It's fine to just focus on one bpm range at first. The majority of songs are either in the 90-100 range or the 120-130 range, so it's a little easier to collect a vinyl set within those two ranges. I started with the 90-100 range because it seemed easier to me at the time. I started with songs that had steady, clear beats, and pretty simple beat patterns.

Hey yo HK, your message question disappeared on Scratchbook (but was forwarded to my email). The BPM range you listed is to broad to mix. For the most part DJs mix songs that are no more than 4 or 5 bpm apart because major speed/pitch adjustment makes the songs sound either chipmunk or slow mo. So ideally find songs whose BPMs are relatively close to each other, like say 91, 94, 95, 97, 100. That's what 202 is about, picking out a set of 5 or 6 songs and learning how to mix them together. The class also teaches you drills and song mapping and techniques. And you get to practice doing it all while people are listening.

Thanks girl!  I'm not at Scratch as often anymore since I got my gear, but I do hope to see you soon.  Are you going on to 202 then?
