Miss Lyric! Fun times in SacTown. Weather is just unbelievable. 104! What's it like in SoCal? I know when I left, it was about 98 in the OC. I will for sure let you know the next time I spin out. How have you been, girl? Have you been on the decks? Come back to the studio! Let's set a time so we can play!
Hey, so this is how I know how to record mixes while being able to hear it come from the speakers and recording onto your computer. It depends a little on your mixer, but this method will work for sure. You will need a few cables.
You'll need 2 RCA Y spliters. http://www.wiredco.com/images/PYTHONRCAY2.jpg
Also, RCA to 3.5mm http://www.digiecity.com/retail/catalog/images/computers/c210.jpg
And, last but not least you will need RCA cables themselves. (4) [2 for the turntables to mixer, like you normally have, then 2 extra for the recording]
The way it works is, you plug one of the RCA Y splitters into the white part of the master out, then you connect both white sections of the extra RCA's into that Y splitter, you do the same with the red. Then you connect one red and one white into your speaker, then you connect one red and one white into the RCA to 3.5mm and you put that 3.5mm jack into the mic input on your computer. But, you have to be very careful because you can ruin your sound card. Start the volume on your mixer very low when recording, then bring it up before you start. Don't have the master out set to full volume right from the start, that's how stuff gets blown out.
I saw Illa J at Dakota Lounge in Santa Monica. It was actually around this same time last year when I did something for my last bday. And I took a peep at your Pete Rock video! Really wish I could've made it out! I'll try and see if I can make The Bridge on Saturday but playing hard for my birthweek is now calling me to study harder =/ or at least relax and recover or something. Finals are coming up and I have to make sure I graduate! But I'll be in LA so if I feel okay I'll see you there =)
i know you can hang lol. you just have some rekindling to do :P when you asked what am i taking now, first thoughts were my LAST two economics classes at UCR! then i'm finito!! woot woot! did you say you were wrapping it up soon too? i didn't sign up for furthur dj classes..
definitely throw up those Pete Rock videos. i have yet to add something interesting. i saw Illa-J perform one of my favorite love jams sometime last year so i'll try and get on that soon!
You were at the Key Club last night?! My cousin was supposed to take me to see Pete Rock since he flaked on another function, but that didn't happen either hah. Btw, we missed you at the last graduation!!!
